The initiative that led to the subsequent birth of the APAA Band began during the APAA General Assembly held in Sydney, Australia in 1997. Mr. Myung-Shin Kim, who later became Honorary President, invited APAA members and observers who were musically inclined to play together for the fun of it. He had rented a venue and some musical instruments earlier.  

Every year thereafter, the Organizing Committee of each Recognized Group acknowledged that the activity of the APAA Band encouraged a warm atmosphere and enhanced fellowship. It was observed that participants enjoyed free drinking, dancing and sometimes singing. At the 54th Adelaide Coucil Meeting in Australia on November 20, 2007, the APAA Band was recognised as an official activity of the APAA annual meetings.   

The APAA Band has been managed by Honorary President Mr. Myung-Shin Kim from 1997 to 2008, Past President Mr. Patrick Yang-Oh Kim from 2009 to 2014, Ms. Jeanne Wang from 2015 to 2019. The current manager of the band is Mr. Sung Pil Hwang.

The APAA band will be performing for two nights, on Saturday (October 15) and Sunday (October 16). The first hospitality night of the APAA Band will begin at 10:00 p.m. at BEXCO, immediately following Welcome Reception and last until midnight. The second night will be held from 09:30 p.m. to midnight at the Ballroom (2F) of Park Hyatt. Please join us and quench your thirst with various genres of music selected and performed by the APAA Band and dance away your pent-up stress from the pandemic years!
